Francofête 2012

Jessica Marie Said (Form 4 Pepprin)

Each year La Journée de la Francophonie is celebrated on the 20th of March 2012.  On this day all French speaking countries in the world are honoured because they support the French language.

In Malta, this day is also celebrated at the Centre Franco-Maltais.  This year the Francofête was celebrated on March 21st 2012.  Competitions were organised for all Form 1 and Form 2 students studying French, while Form 3 and Form 4 students were asked to take part in a quiz.  This quiz included questions about French culture and basic grammar questions.

Students from Form 1 and Form 2 took part in the general competitions while Jessica Marie Said (Form 4 Pepprin) and Brittany Attard (Form 3 Sempreviva) took part in the quizzes.  Jessica Marie Said placed first together with another student Justine Pierson (Our Lady Immaculate) and Brittany Attard placed fourth together with Daphne Camilleri (St Thomas More Girls’ Secondary School). 24 different secondary schools in Malta and Gozo took part in these quizzes.

The above results are an honour to our school.  All students were given a certificate of participation, book tokens and the school was awarded a trophy.
