 Comino Outing

On 4 th November 2016, we, the year 7 students of Gozo College Middle School together with our teachers went on a very interesting and educational outing to Comino Island.

The crossing to and fro Comino with the boat was already exciting! We disembarked at the island’s main attraction, the Blue Lagoon! Since it was November the beach was quite tranquil, but there was still some people swimming in the crystal clear blue water as it was a very sunny day.

We walked all the way to St. Mary’s Chapel, a tiny Roman Catholic chapel built in 1618. Other places of interest included the cemetery, the old bakery and St. Mary’s Battery. On our way we saw several types of plants including the well known Mediterranean Thyme and we even saw a large eagle flying high above.

Our last stop was the impressive St. Mary’s Tower where we enjoyed breathtaking views.

This outing was not only interesting but also served as physical exercise. We were all worn out but you could still see some happy faces because this activity was such an opportunity for all of us students.
